Well, and then

Any of you that have been around us for an hour knows that our son has a very vivid imagination. He can tell a story and make it so believable. You start thinking to yourself, could this have really happened? You sometimes are just not for sure. I live with him everyday and still find myself wondering. On Sunday, Nana and Papaw came over to the house after the circus and Brody began his story telling. I was in the kitchen so I did not hear all of the story but this is a brief segment of how the story went:

Brody: Well, Nana and Papaw, come to my room, I have something special to show you.

(I can hear them agreeing with him and asking a couple of questions.)

Brody: and then (with his hand in the air - you know what I am talking about if you have watched him tell a story) Bryan dumped over the basketball goal and then he messed up my room with all the toys and then he dumped over the bins with all the toys. (I am not exactly for sure what Brody was doing during Bryan's rampage throught his room). and then, we started jumping on the bed.

Nana: Really, that must have been a mess.

Brody: Yeah

Me: Ok Brody, I do not remember this happening (papaw is looking at me like, did this really happen - he was being very believable) what was mommy doing? Where was mommy?

Brody: Well mommy, (with his hand in the air) you were on the patio drinking wine.

Me: Really, I guess that it why I do not remember this happening. What was daddy doing?

Brody: Well, he was just drinking a coke.

End of story. We were laughing so hard. Brody really believes that this story happened. I hope this story telling keeps up, he could make lots of money.

Circus, Circus, Circus

Sunday was another fun filled day. Nana and Papaw took us all to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus in Waco. Brody has never been to the circus so we were not for sure what to expect from him. The last circus I remember going to was with Aunt Blondie and Uncle Jody, I was probably 5 or 6. We arrived at the HOT fair grounds an hour early because they were having pre-circus events. Brody did not want anything to do with them. I do believe he was completely overwhelmed. The circus began at 2:00. He was really enjoying all the people and the 1 clown. He started getting a little bored and was ready to leave when the elephants made their grand entrance. He loved the elephants. We thought it was over but they had an intermission to get ready for the tigers. He enjoyed the tigers but as soon as they left, Brody was ready to leave. The circus was a little long but we all had a great time.

Thank you Nana and Papaw for a wonderful experience.

Happy Birthday Pops!!

What a weekend we had. It started Saturday morning when I headed to Waco to get my hair trimmed. I stopped by Grandmas and picked her up for a surprise birthday get together for Pops (Uncle Jim). Everyone started arriving around 2:00 - the day began. We had a wonderful time with the Butler family. We grilled fajitas, played in the swimming pool, went shooting, fishing, rides on the jeep, birthday cake Brody cooked and decorated (what an experience), had a water balloon fight and ended the night with fireworks. It was a great time and Pops was very surprised. Brody had so much fun with all of his cousins, they include him in everything they do - thank you so much. That means the world to me and Bill.

Thank you to everyone for coming out and having a great time.
Brody was exhausted!!!

It Was A Huge Success!!!!

Brody completed swimming lessons on Friday with flying colors. He made his parents so proud. After the first week, I was not for sure if we would make it through the second but we did. We arrived at the pool Monday evening with a promise that he would get in the pool. Not only did he get in the pool but he stayed in the pool and never asked to get out. He loved it this week. His favorite part of lessons was getting to jump off of the diving board at the end of class. I was never for sure if he was actually listening but he did prove me wrong. Friday was our last day and he actually swam under the water (face in) for about 5 feet. I was so proud. He is not for sure exactly how to float on his back but he did with the help of Drew (his instructor). At the end of the class, anyone who wanted to jump off the diving board could or they could jump off the side. Brody was the first and only one in line for the diving board. He was having so much fun he did not want to go home. Thanks to Drew and Kara for teaching my big boy how to swim.

I'm Going to Runaway

Yesterday, we all three headed to Round Rock to go to the outlet mall to do some window shopping. (I wanted to get out of the house) After that we headed to Joe's Crab Shack for some dinner. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Brody had beach hamburgers (bite size) and he ate all of one and part of the other. That is an accomplishment for him. On the way home, he found the suckers Gary had given him after his last haircut. I had been telling him he could not eat them in the car, he had to wait until we got home. This is how our conversation went:
Brody: Momma, I am going to ask you just one question.
Me: Ok Brody, what is your question?
Brody: Well momma, if you tell me no one more time, I am going to runaway.
Me: Really, where are you going to runaway to?
Brody: Aunt Rita and Uncle Johnnies.
Me: Well, how are you going to get there?
Brody: Oh, just walk.
Me: Would you like for me to call and let them know you are on your way?
Brody: Yeah
End of conversation. I am still not for sure what his questions was but I am sure it was about the suckers. He cracked me up because he was so serious. I guess he decided to not runaway because he is still here and the suckers have gone bye bye.

Day 3 and Day 4

As you can see, I did not post about day 3 of swimming lessons. It was just as bad as day 2. After about 15 minutes of begging and pleading to get in the pool, he was right at the step and it started to thunder. So, everyone had to get out of the pool. After it thunders, you have to wait 30 minutes before you get back in. At that time, the swimming lessons would have been over so we had to call it a night. Brody, saved by the thunder.

Now day 4 started off just as bad but Bill came with us and Brody decided he would jump right on in. He got in the water with all the other kids and had a ball. I am not for sure if he is actually listening and learning but he is having fun. At the end of the lesson they got to jump off of the diving board and he jumped 3 times. I am very proud of him. Let's just hope next week is a wonderful week.

I hope everyone has a wonderful July 4th!!!

Happy Birthday to Aunt Brenda, Johnny Allen & Aunt Rhonda!!!
