A Great Day!!

Today was a great day in the Butler household. I mentioned in the past that we were seeing a new pediatrician. Well, today we had our first appointment with the allergy/asthma doctor. It went great. They did some retesting and had no reactions, not even milk. YEAH!!! He changed some medications and wants to see us back in a month. The doctor seems to think that maybe the allergy shots did their job and he is growing up. We are so excited.

My Little Helper

Brody is such a great helper. He is learning to set the table, clear the table and he loves to help me cook. His favorite item to help me with is brownies, as the picture shows. He is just like his mommy, would rather lick the beaters clean than eat it once it is cooked.

Brody is also learning how to help his mommy with the clothes. He enjoys folding the towels (not quite how I fold them, but he is trying) and he loves to help me get them out of the dryer. We were carrying clothes to the bedroom to fold and when I came back, this is where he was...

What A Difference A Day Makes

Well, what a difference one day makes. The Butler family had a great day!! The morning started at the same time but Brody's morning was great. It started out wonderful. I guess he remembered the night before with no movies. He got out of bed, got dressed, ate breakfast and was ready to go to school.
We had a doctors appointment today. No one is sick, just changing pedi doctors for Brody. This was a very stressful time for me. Not only were we changing doctors, we were changing clinics and hospitals. We now are going to Scott & White in Temple. Much closer for me, we were traveling to Waco for appointments. The doctor we have chosen is Bill's brothers best friend. We are now very excited about this change after our appointment today. The doctor knows Brody and all his history. They really got along great.
We came on home a little early so Brody was able to enjoy some time outside. Which is favorite place to play. He really enjoyed himself. He has learned to ride the tricycle (with a helmet of course). He rides everywhere. It is made to ride on rocks and grass. Anyway, he had a great time outside.
We had a wonderful and peaceful dinner. He actually ate some dinner. We had time to play with the farm set before bed.
All in all, we had a great day and evening. I hope everyone had a wonderful rest of the week.

A Day With a 3 Year Old

Some days you just want to be over. That was our day yesterday. Brody is a very strong willed little boy. When he wants something, he will not quit until he gets it. I will try to make this long story short.
Our day begins at 3:30 a.m. That is when the wonderful alarm clock welcomes us to a new day. Anyone who knows me knows I am not a big morning person. Bill gets up and is out of the house around 4:15 a.m. I am out of bed around 5:00 a.m. A little time to myself before the day begins with a 3 year old. I get munchkin up around 6:30 (or at least I try). He is usually up around 6:45. Brody is not just an angel at this time of the morning either. We have our routine (he likes the routine) and if we deviate from that at all, the morning is a disaster. Well.....that was yesterday morning. He did not want to get up, get dressed, eat breakfast or go to school. What a way to start the day, with a screaming child. Anyway, we get to school and I get to work. Finally, a time to rest.
It is now 5:00 p.m., time to pick up Brody. I sure hope the evening goes great. Was I wrong. We get home, he wants cookies, I want to watch a movie, color with me, NOW!!! I get dinner ready, no dinner for Brody or at least that is what he thinks. It was a battle from the get go. He now enjoys head butting me in the stomach, he hit his head on the table (not hard), he fell to the floor and starting screaming. You would have thought we just beat him. He finally got in his chair after about 5 minutes of screaming. He then decides he is not going to eat, the potatoes are sticky, the spaghetti is yucky, I don't like you mommy. I told him, well I love you. Then he proceeds to tell me he wants me to leave, I don't like you mommy. He wanted croutons and I would not let him have any until he ate dinner. (I wonder if he dreamed about that Aunt Bonda?). He then tells me he wants me to leave again. I put on my shoes and grabbed my purse and out the door I went. He screamed and begged me to come back. Bill was explaining to him what he had done wrong. After about 5 to 10 minutes (I was getting cold), I came back in. He was sobbing so hard. He said he was sorry and he wanted to give me a hug. He finally ate dinner. We did explain to him he was not going to be able to watch any of his movies. He understands he is in trouble when there are no movies. Off to the shower he went. Finally to bed.
I finished the dishes and picked up the house. It is now 10:30 and off to bed I go. Please let tommorow be a better day...
