Which Way Do We Go????
Tonight was our first night of t-ball practice and it was the most hilarious thing I have ever seen. We have 3 or 4 boys under 4 and it shows. They were the funniest to watch. Then we have about 4 or 5 who have played before and that shows. Then, you have those of us in between. They kinda know what is going on but have an attention span of about 15 minutes.
Brody did pretty good for his first organized sport. He doesn't quiet have the concept of paying attention to the ball but they tell us to be patient, it shall come. He still hasn't decided if he wants to throw and catch left or right handed yet. So we do have to work on that. He did great at batting but ran between first and second base but eventually made it to first and then on to home in the right order. He does listen to his coaches very well. Much better than listening to us.
He did want to watch the cars go down the road, kick the dirt and dance around. Overall he did very well. We are very proud of him and can't wait for the next practice. Our first game will be on April 25, not for sure of the time yet.
After practice we had a meeting for the parents. Boy, we have our work cut out for us. Saturday we have a work day starting at 8:00 a.m. to get the fields cleaned, fields in order and a cover over the dug outs. Practice again on Monday (that is our normal practice day) and then again on Thursday. Sometime in between this we have somehow gotten ourselves into a casino night fundraiser. Meeting dates to be determined. We all must work the concession stand several times during the year and who knows what else. I do believe we are going to be busy but will be loving every minute of it.
Pictures will follow in a later post.

Momma, he said a bad word...
Ok, so I know this story will not be near as funny as when Brody told it to me but just image Brody and his dramatics while reading.
We were headed home Monday after school and Brody tells me he has something he needs to tell me. He sounds very serious and upset. Of course, I believe the worse that he must have gotten into some trouble at school. So, I move my rear view mirror so I can see him and he starts:
Brody: Momma, Weston said a bad word today at school.
Me: Really, what did he say (for those of you who do not know, Weston and Brody teach the class a wonderful vocabulary. His mother and I compare notes a couple of times a week to see who has the most interesting words. Brody has some interesting words.)
Brody: Momma, I just can't tell you. (he has his head down and is shaking it like it is horrible)
Me: Now Brody, it could not have been that bad, just tell mommy what he said.
Brody: Well momma, Stone said it first (another friend in his class with some behavioral issues.) and Weston said it too.
Me: Brody, tell mommy what they said. You will not get in trouble just tell me this once.
Brody: Momma, I just can't. It was a bad word. (I am thinking to myself, this must be terrible. Brody is really upset. I can tell he wants to tell me but is scared he is going to get in trouble.)
Me: Brody, just tell mommy.
Brody: Well, it is not as bad of words as you and daddy say. (I almost lost it)
Me: Really...
Brody: Ok momma, (he is still looking down and shaking his head) he said SHUT UP!!!!
Of course, I just wanted to laught but I continued and was just as dramatic. I told him that was a bad word and we do not say that.
If only shut up was the worst thing Brody had said I would be happy.

Chocolate - For Sale!!!
Saturday was a big day for Brody... He signed up for T-BALL!!!!! He seems excited but doesn't really have any idea about practice and games. It should be a hoot. After I paid the necessary fee to play, the lady said, "Don't forget your box of chocolates." So, now I am going to be one of those people at work begging you to buy my chocolate.
Give Brody a call if you want to help him win a prize!!!

What A Sight!!!
For the last couple of years we have been seeing white tail deer in our area but had never seen any on our property until this year. The only deer we have been seeing are does but we have seen several bucks around us. So, for Christmas I decided to get Bill a game camera so we could see what was going on out in the pasture. We put up a deer feeder and just waited. To our amazement this is what we are seeing, this is only one of the many (over 1000 pictures) that we have gotten:
Bill is so excited, ok, we all are. But, Bill has always wanted a place of his own with deer. We can not wait to get home in the afternoons to get the card and see what was out the night before. We even have a couple of pictures of an elk bull. I will post more pictures later on!!
