The New Addition to the Family!!!

It has been awhile since I posted. Things were very busy for about a month but we have had a couple of weeks of just relaxing. It has been nice. We are still very busy around the house and with work but have had some time for just the 3 of us. In this time, we had an addition to the family, in fact we had 55 new additions to the family. We are the proud parents to 55 baby chicks. Brody is loving it. He can not wait to get home and feed the chickies, water the chickies and just touch one. He calls them chickies. Here are just a couple of pictures the day we received the chickies. Hope everyone is doing great.

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!

My Wonderful Family

Vonda has been asking me to post a new picture of me since I have lost some weight. So here you go. It also has my wonderful husband and wonderful son. Thanks Brenton and Jenna for taking some great pictures.

Mother's Day!!

This time of year is dedicated to moms all around the world. I want to take this time to thank my mom for everything she has done for me through the years. She has taught me so much about being a mom that I do not even know where to begin. She has taught (or tried) to teach me patience. That is something I have to work on now that I am a mom. Cooking - where do I begin. Mom let us help her in the kitchen from a very young age. I always remember being in the kitchen helping stir (or lick) something. My hips have the proof of the cooking this family can do. Unconditional love. No matter what I did or did not do, mom was always there.

When I became a mom to my wonderful son Brody, my mom was with me every step of the way. Helping me to try to control my emotions. That I was never able to do. Helping me try to find some clothes that might fit for more than a month. When I was about 6 months pregnant, mom was there to help me try to make some sense out of this house. About a week before Brody was born, she cleaned my house from top to bottom. It has never sparkled that much since. While I was pregnant, mom said she would stay with me as long as I needed after Brody was born. I thought to myself, I can do this. Boy was I wrong. When Brody was born, she never left my side. Thank you so much. I think I cried everyday all day for the first four weeks. She was always there reassuring me that I could do this even when I doubted my ability of being a mother. Thank you for being there for me.

Now that I am a mom, mother's day to me is every day of the year. Mom always told me that but I would think, yeah right. Brody is my life. He is the best little boy that a mom could ask for. I look at Brody and can not believe that he is a part of me. He is a great little boy, he is so smart and he loves me. Last night I fixed him some ice cream with chocolate syrup. When he was finished, he came to me and said "Thank you momma, thank you!!" The look in his eyes just melted my heart because to him, I am perfect. I love just watching him sleep at night, he looks like an angel.

I hope that I am as great of a mom to Brody as mom was to me. Thank you mom for everything you have done for me and everything you will do for me in the future. I love you.

Now just a quick little picture of my perfect son.

What a Weekend!

We had a great weekend visiting with family, family we have not seen in awhile. Bill's aunt and uncle from California were here and then his aunt and uncle from the valley came up. We had a great time at the ranch Friday night. Then Saturday morning our niece, Katy, graduated from UMHB - way to go Katy!!! We went to Jim & Jody's Saturday night for a party for Katy. Sunday we visited with everyone at Grandma's house. It was a relaxing day for everyone.

We enjoyed having everyone at our house Friday night and loved visiting with everyone all weekend. Thank you for many wonderful memories.

YEAH FOR ME!!!!

As most of you know, I am trying to lose some weight for myself, to be a better mommy to Brody and a happier wife to Bill. When you do not feel good about yourself, it is reflected in everything you do. Today, I reached one of my goals - to lose 20 pounds and I did, in fact, I have lost 20.5 pounds. I am so excited. I want to say thank you to all of my WW buddies and all of my friends and family for there support. It is much easier when you have people cheering you on.

Zoo Day!!!

What a day. Saturday we went to the zoo and met a couple of Brody's friends, their parents and one of his teachers, Mrs. Sarah. I did not realize how tiring the zoo could be. I was spoiled to being able to just stroll through the zoo and look at all the animals. Well, not with four 3 year olds, one 2 year old, one 4 year old and one 18 month old. We did not stroll, we ran through the entire zoo. They would look and run. Brody said his favorite animal was the catfish and the elephant. He loved the snakes also. Yuck!!! We were in the Brazos River Authority looking at all the animal that live up and down the Brazos River, Brody yells to Bryan - "OH, MY JESUS, LOOK AT THAT SNAKE!!!"We were at the zoo for 3 1/2 hours. It was a great time. We had all planned to have a sack lunch in the park afterwards but everyone just wanted to get home. I had packed a lunch so we found a quiet little table in the park and enjoyed a picnic. Brody loved it, he even ate all of his sandwich. That is a first.

We headed home for a nice night at the ranch. We sat on the patio, had a glass (or two) of wine, had a fire, grilled steak and salmon and listened to Texas Saturday night. It was very relaxing, wonderful family time.
