YEAH FOR ME!!!!

As most of you know, I am trying to lose some weight for myself, to be a better mommy to Brody and a happier wife to Bill. When you do not feel good about yourself, it is reflected in everything you do. Today, I reached one of my goals - to lose 20 pounds and I did, in fact, I have lost 20.5 pounds. I am so excited. I want to say thank you to all of my WW buddies and all of my friends and family for there support. It is much easier when you have people cheering you on.

Zoo Day!!!

What a day. Saturday we went to the zoo and met a couple of Brody's friends, their parents and one of his teachers, Mrs. Sarah. I did not realize how tiring the zoo could be. I was spoiled to being able to just stroll through the zoo and look at all the animals. Well, not with four 3 year olds, one 2 year old, one 4 year old and one 18 month old. We did not stroll, we ran through the entire zoo. They would look and run. Brody said his favorite animal was the catfish and the elephant. He loved the snakes also. Yuck!!! We were in the Brazos River Authority looking at all the animal that live up and down the Brazos River, Brody yells to Bryan - "OH, MY JESUS, LOOK AT THAT SNAKE!!!"We were at the zoo for 3 1/2 hours. It was a great time. We had all planned to have a sack lunch in the park afterwards but everyone just wanted to get home. I had packed a lunch so we found a quiet little table in the park and enjoyed a picnic. Brody loved it, he even ate all of his sandwich. That is a first.

We headed home for a nice night at the ranch. We sat on the patio, had a glass (or two) of wine, had a fire, grilled steak and salmon and listened to Texas Saturday night. It was very relaxing, wonderful family time.

What a Great Weekend!

It has been a while since I posted so I will catch you up. Two weekends ago we had Grandma Butler out for the day and we wound up with a great group for the afternoon. Jim and Jody showed up with some steak for dinner. Ryan came over to help Bill with the tractor and to play with Brody. Then, Jenna and Brenton surprised us with a visit. Brody was in heaven. He loved riding the tractor with Ryan (Ryan even let him drive) and playing farmer (putting a farm puzzle together) and football with Brenton. Jenna and I were watching the boys and we could not decide who was having more fun, the big boys or Brody. We had a great night with everyone. Thank you to all for coming to visit.

Sunday was a day at the carnival in Temple. Nana and Papaw met me and Brody in Temple to ride the rides. Bill stayed home to mow and catch up around the house. Brody had tons of fun although, he is not too sure about those fast rides. He takes after Nana that way. Hopefully, he will come around. I need someone to ride those roller costers with!!!! Nana and Papaw came over to visit and have dinner. We grilled salmon and tilapia (sorry dad, we will grill for you again).

We had a great weekend and we are ready to get the week started.

A Smokin' Good Time!!!

Thank you to the Butler's for a wonderful Saturday afternoon. Jim, Jody and the family came over for some smoked BBQ and all the trimmin's. Bill did a great job. I must say, it was one of his better briskets yet. It was so tender, it just fell apart. Brody enjoyed having the "kids" over to play. Brody says thank you for playing with the Lincoln logs with me. We all exchanged some great WW recipes and I look forward to trying some out soon. Thanks for a great time.

Then Sunday, they had the entire family over to their house for lunch. It was great to get to visit and get caught up with everyone. Again, thank you for a wonderful day.

What a Site!

We had a great time Saturday watching the crop duster. Mr. Bostick was having all of his fields sprayed which included the back land that he leases from us. That plane would fly so fast and so low to the ground. We thought at times it was going to either fly into the trees or into our house. We stood outside like we had never seen a plane before. I am sure the pilot was thinking, what idiots, haven't they ever seen this before. Yes, we have but not up close. Here are just a couple of pictures.

Thank You Nana!!!

Nana, thank you for spending the night with me Friday night. I had a great time, actually, it was wonderful. Thank you for watching 101 Dalmations with me and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. I had lots of fun.

Good Company!!!

Today started as a dreary day. No sunshine just clouds and mist but it ended with sunshine and good company. After cleaning the house and enjoying some play time with Brody, Grandma came to visit. It was nice having her out and getting to visit. We looked at pictures and learned a little more about each other. While we were busy visiting, Brody was outside playing in the mud. Aunt D would be proud!!! Contrary to belief, Brody is the one who does not like to have dirt, mud or water on him for any amount of time. I think he changed clothes twice. Bill finally watered him down with the water hose. Grandma enjoyed watching Brody ride his trike and play in the mud. She said he acted just like his daddy did at that age. We enjoyed a meal of grilled pork loin, baked potatoes and stewed squash. We ended with a fudgy brownie (2 points) and ice cream.

Thanks Grandma for coming over, we had fun!!
